I really enjoyed the piece. The music is fantastic. It sparks nostalgia but works well in contrast with the destruction. First, I think the tiles are gorgeous and yes, they remind me of Havana, St. Augustine, and other cities that still possess their colonial architecture. Because of the way you set it up, I saw all of Pioneer's gestures and actions and metaphors for colonialism and imperialism. That made his clothing and affect all the more chilling when he appears strong, handsome, and well intentioned while he is creating so much destruction. Also, it made me think of how we all become involved even if we think of ourselves as innocent bystanders.
